And we’re published!

23 Dec

After what seems like months of epic battles with the publishers we have been triumphant! The Salesforce Handbook is now available on Lulu.com and will be pushed to retailers such as Amazon and Google Books in the next few weeks.

On the site you’ll find both a paperback and electronic copy of the book and we’ve set the pricing such that we’re never likely to break even – but hey, a handshake and a kind word are good enough for those of our ilk.

Once again we’d like to thank all the reviewers, domain-experts and friends who’ve helped us along the journey that is writing a book. It was a massive learning experience and Jeff and I are better men for it. Merry Christmas, and hope you enjoy the book!

Buy the Salesforce Handbook!

Congrats. When I’m back from holiday I’m buying a few copies for the team. What a good Xmas gift.

Unfortunately, Lulu doesn’t show chapter previews and it’s preview doesn’t even show the full table of contents. Might be worth putting a copy of the table of contents and sample chapter here. In any case, bought the pdf book from Lulu – looks good 🙂

Thanks for that, I’ve customised the preview and it’s a bit longer and informational now. I’m a bit unhappy about the quality of the preview too but they’ve said it’s as good as it gets :\

Also note that the pdf doesn’t include the cover image. I put these in iBooks on my iPad, which displays the top page on the bookshelf. It’s hard to find it w/o publishing that cover image on the first page (ask me about trying to find any of the salesforce pdf documentation there :-o).

Send your receipt to salesforcehandbook@gmail.com. Over the weekend I’ll edit the PDF and add the cover onto the front (I created the cover and am a touch peeved that that Lulu can’t stick it on the PDF); I’ll mail you the updated version.

Hi Jeff, any update on the book being available on Amazon Kindle? thanks!!!

    • Wes January 7, 2011 at 10:31 am #

      Hi Fred,

It should be available on Amazon as a book and PDF in a few weeks. We’re still considering the Kindle route. Incidently what version Kindle do you have?

      Wes

It doesn’t appear to be available at LuLu. Where can I get this?

      • Wes January 7, 2011 at 4:04 pm #

So sorry about this, I’ve just gotten an email from Lulu.com saying they need to take the listing down for a few days (something to do with a technical issue on their side). Check back in a few days, I’ll also been posting to twitter, facebook and this blog when the book is once again available.

Hi Wes, I have the new $139 version…. Hope that helps…

      • Wes January 10, 2011 at 4:55 pm #

@Fred, if that’s the new version then it uses PDFs natively, just connect it to your computer and transfer the file.. baddabing-baddaboom, you have a “kindle” version!
